Amma Bama
fish tale

One September night, somewhere in Vilas County, Wisconsin ...

"Well, I finally got my monster," writes Breck R. "This 49" (length), 24" girth, 34 3/4 pounder hit a 6" brown perch pattern Amma Bama at 2 a.m. on Sept. 13th, 2003."

"Well it was about 1 in the morning and we were about to go to bed, and I was worried about the fire going down and, being close to the cabin, we didn't want to leave it unattended. So, we figured, let's go out on the lake for about an hour or so and cast a few more. We were fishing a deep weed edge for about a half hour, then decided to go check out the center bar of the lake. I switched up lures to an Amma Bama I bought last year when I was up at Rollie & Helen's muskie shop.

"After casting for about 20 minutes, we were just about to head in 'cause it was late and getting cold, and we were both worn out after fishing all day. Then my fishing partner talked me into casting a few more times before we headed in....

"A few casts later, I hook in to something. I had no idea what it was, but I knew it was something big. I tell my partner I've got something big, so get ready. So he starts lifting the motor from the water and gets everything ready. After about 6 or 7 hard runs from the boat, she was netted and landed in to the boat. To my surprise it was the biggest live muskie I have ever encountered....

"Thanks to Amma Bama for making a fine lure and helping me catch this trophy fish."

Breck ended a long day of fishing and relaxation with this 49-inch fish.
He hooked it on a brown-perch-patterned Amma Bama.
